Description
Wildlife rehabilitation is the care and treatment of injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife so they can be released back to their natural habitat as functional members of their species. It involves unique challenges for each species, and combines aspects of veterinary medicine, animal husbandry, animal behavior, biology. and natural resources.
Rehabilitation begins when affected wildlife is brought to us. For some patients, care can last as little as a few days. For others, such as orphaned babies, or critically ill or injured, it could mean weeks, or even months in our care.
Every effort is made to provide the most appropriate and best care, then release wildlife patients as soon as possible for their safety and well-being.
